Amy B. Donaldson

31, beloved wife, mom

RUTLAND, Vt. -- Amy B. Donaldson, a former Hopatcong resident, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at Rutland Regional Medical Center after battling against a long fight with cancer. She was 31.

Amy was born in Ridgewood,NJ. She moved to Hopatcong and graduated from Hopatcong High School (HHS) in 1994. Amy enjoyed her time in high school spending her extracurricular time in Kids-4-Kids, drama club and in the school's Color Guard program. Amy's love of helping others landed her in New York University's school of social work. Amy graduated from NYU in 1998.

During college, Amy re-kindled a friendship with her future husband, Matthew Campbell, a fellow HHS graduate. Their love relocated them to Maine.

After some time in Maine, Matt and Amy and their pugs moved to Vermont. Amy and Matt's love for one another grew into parenthood. Their first son, Aidan, was born in 2002. Their second blessing was Owen, born in 2004.

Amy's health wasn't the only battle she was fighting. Amy's son Owen has been battling Hunter's Syndrome (www.savesweetpea.com).

Amy's love for her children outweighed everything in life, and her desire to be a stay-at-home mom outweighed her career. Like every battle in life, Amy researched and challenged every one, fighting until the end.

Life, and the health and happiness of her children and husband, were her greatest joys in life.

Amy is survived by her devoted husband, Matthew Campbell, and her two precious sons, Aidan and Owen Campbell, of Rutland, Vt.

She also is survived by her sister, Jessica and her husband, Jack, and son Noah Quinn of Flanders; and a brother, Daniel Donaldson, also of Flanders; a stepbrother, Christopher Lahey of Hopatcong; a stepsister, Maggie Lahey of Bayonne; her mother and stepfather, Kathy and Chris Lahey of Lakeland, Fla., and her father, Doug Donaldson of Waldwick.
